Terms and Conditions

We will do our very best to guide you and help you make progress with your dog during the training process. Please remember, attending one training lesson does not result in a well-trained dog. It depends on your family’s input at home, daily. Some clients feel they need ongoing support, and some feel they have the skill to continue unaided after block booking lessons with us. Either way, training is a skill learned by you and your dog. Like any learned behaviour, if you don’t practice daily, you & your dog will lose that skill over time.

General Terms

By placing a booking with Future Focus Canines, you are deemed to have read, understood, and accepted our terms and conditions below. Completion of the booking process, Service User Agreement, History Form and acceptance of our terms and conditions forms your contract with Future Focus Canines.

When booking training session/s, dates will be agreed upon by us (Future Focus Canines) and by you (the customer) in advance and confirmed once payment has been made in full (this is to avoid last minute cancellations) and your questionnaire returned. You will have booked a specific time/date for this lesson. If it becomes necessary for you to cancel the private lesson after you have booked and paid for it, but before you have started it, we require 14 working days’ notice for a refund to be made. Any refund made will be reduced by an administration fee of £15.00. If you purchase a package and then cancel, fail to turn up to a session or one to one booking, no refund will be made except in special circumstances. This situation will be considered case by case. You may cancel your purchase within a period of 14 working days beginning the moment you place your order. However, there is no right of cancellation where the private lesson or behaviour consultation begins within a 7-day period.

If we (Future Focus Canines) need to cancel an appointment, this lesson will be rescheduled to a date and time which suits you.

If you have booked an in-person session and covid restrictions increase meaning we are unable to see you in-person, your session will take place online. You do have the option of deferring your session to a time when restrictions have eased and moving your session will be arranged at no extra cost.

Future Focus Canines staff are there to help you and your dog. We will endeavour to engage with customers with courtesy and respect and ask that you do the same with us.

We do not allow any form of harsh handling, and we use proven kind and effective techniques. Therefore, we do not tolerate any methods that cause pain, fear or intimidation to the dog, nor any aversive devices. If you need support with this, it will be covered in your consultation. We recommend standard leads and long lines (not extendable) depending on the dog and either a collar that is as wide and comfortable as possible or a harness. Please also consider a variety of training treats and toys, any hardware (e.g. harness) recommendations can be discussed in consultations.

Future Focus Canines make every effort to accept and support learners with special needs. Please let us know if you or your dog have any special needs so that we can strive to accommodate these. This applies to allergies also.
